Producer: Heather Siobhan Curran
Director: Matt Schicker
Cast: Musa Bacon, Brooke Hoover, Kelly Jo, Liz Samuel (Yoga Kills); Musa Bacon, Kevin Dedes, Emily Gabler, Erin Kate Howard (Yoga Kills).
For Yoga Kills at Chernuchin Theater, add: Holden Berryman, Sharisma Simmons, Elizabeth Wipff.
What I’m Most Proud Of: Playwright Charlotte Winters and I collaborated closely on developing Yoga Kills, which was a rewarding experience. Together we made changes to clarify the characters and the action, an it made for a very funny satire of the yoga/pilates craze. The final scene involved a deity by the name of Lord Chattarunga entering to “Carmina Burana” and a slow-motion battle to the death with a room full of yoga students!
(l to r) Kelly Jo as Aimhe, Brooke Hoover as Janeane, and Liz Samuel as Bliss in Yoga Kills.

Goddess of Fire also was a great piece, and the actors committed fully to some very funny gags.
Reviews and Quotes:
“There’s a real gem in the middle of this program, a charming comedy called Goddess of Fire… delightfully warm-hearted….Yoga Kills takes a slapstick look at the world of competitive yoga…quite enjoyable….skillfully directed by Matt Schicker. The acting is of fine quality as well and was extremely well-received…”
